About us

A dedication beyond needles & herbs.

Why Choose Chinese Medicine?

Harnessing the wisdom of ancient practices, Chinese Medicine offers a holistic approach to today's health challenges. It provides a drug-free option to combat stress, anxiety, and depression by stabilizing energy flows and guiding individuals towards a more balanced life. Additionally, acupuncture is a potent aid for infertility, significantly enhancing IVF success rates and assisting numerous couples in natural conception.

Our treatment modalities are trusted by athletes, from Major League Baseball pros to weekend enthusiasts, for injury management and recovery. And for those wary of needles? Rest assured, with alternatives like herbal remedies and electric point-stimulators, effective treatments are possible without any sharp objects breaking your skin.

About Dr. Michael Oliphant

Dr. Michael Oliphant, the primary practitioner at Yin and Tonic, began his professional journey in Public Health. Drawn to acupuncture in 2005, he was particularly impressed by its individualized approach and its profound efficacy against challenges like SARS. His quest for deeper understanding led him to Hong Kong, where he apprenticed under the esteemed acupuncturist, Dr. Troy Sing. This invaluable experience broadened his expertise in areas like fertility acupuncture and advanced pain management techniques.

Upon returning to the United States, Michael's skills garnered attention, earning him a notable role as the locker-room acupuncturist for the Chicago White Sox. He also received advanced training in specialized treatments, including but not limited to the Mei Zen facial rejuvenation method, Zheng Gu Tui Na medical massage, and advanced Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMAC) training. In addition to his clinical practice, Michael enriches the field as an educator. He currently teaches at the Pacific College of Health Sciences and travels as a guest lecturer, sharing his vast knowledge and passion for holistic health.
